Every person has a hobby. There are so
many kinds of activity that we can choose as our hobby. Like playing guitar, piano, or drum. You are also
able to do sport and choose one of
them as your hobby. Like playing football, basketball, vollyball, baseball,
swimming, etc. You have to know that your hobby can be something special if you practice it gradually.
Well, many people are aspiring to learn how to play the guitar. The
guitar has risen into a certain level of popularity that it has become a symbol
of talent, creativity and "coolness". Haha! :D
However, learning how to play the
guitar is not joke. Learning to play the instrument means learning to play the
chord too. Ok! This article tries to give some helpful tips to you who want to
learn to play guitar chords.
1. For beginners, learn some of the most
common chords. Try A, C, D, Dm, E, Em, F and G. Eight chords may seem daunting
at first, but, by practising
you will memorize them pretty
quickly. And yes, it is normal for your fingertips to blister initially. You
may also find it difficult to place your fingers strategically on the fretboard
to meet the demands of certain chords, but just keep practising and your
fingers will adapt in time.
2. Be
aware of the right hand
Yeah, you have to know guys! An important
thing to remember while
learning how to play guitar chords is that the movement of the right hand is as
important as the movement of the left hand. Most beginners would find
themselves taking breaks in strumming until the left hand positions itself
properly for the next chord. This is normal during the first few days of practising,
but at some point, the right hand should dictate the tempo of the movements of
both hands. Strumming or plucking shouldn't be delayed.
3.
Listen to guitar intensive songs as long as it
is possible
One should learn how to play the guitar with
some inspiration at the back of his head. Listening to good guitar players will
give one some idea of where he would want to go in the future.
4. Practise as much as you can.
Simply, the more you practice, the better you
will become. Try to put aside one hour a day for your guitar practise. If you
do this, you will see your skillset soar. It cannot be stressed how important
this is!
5. Learn to be patient.
Practising play
a guitar needs time. It will reward you if you put in the effort. From learning
new chords to develope the
rhythm of your strumming, you will often need a considerable amount of
patience.
6. Enjoy yourself!
That's what it's all about. Play alone, jam
with your friends, play your favourite songs and have a good time.
Playing guitar chords is not as hard as one would think. Learning
to play guitar chords is a basic and essential part of guitar playing, it lays
down the foundation of good guitar playing skills. If one has the passion to play the guitar, he
will eventually learn how to play the chords and advance into more intricate
lessons.
